The Feldenkrais Method® of Movement Education is a revolutionary approach to improving physical and mental functioning through somatic awareness by directly accessing the nervous system. The Feldenkrais Method® uses a process of organic learning, movement, and sensing to free you from habitual patterns and constraints to allow for new patterns of thinking, moving and feeling to emerge.
The Feldenkrais Method® benefits conditions such as tension, chronic aches and pains, injuries, movement restrictions, and neurological issues. It can also improve athletic and artistic performance, coordination, balance and flexibility. During a Feldenkrais session, Jasmine uses gentle touch as a guide so clients can experience new ways of moving and relating to self through mindful awareness of the body in action.
Reiki is originally a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Rei in Japanese translates to Universal light, and Ki translates to energy. When someone is practicing Reiki they are opening themselves up to universal light energy to heal whomever or whatever they are working on. Reiki can help reduce anxiety, lessen pain, and improve sleep.
Reiki sessions consist of the client lying down fully clothed and relaxed. Jasmine use a gentle hands-on touch (or hands off) to restore energetic balance and flow. This creates a nurturing energetic harmony that allows the client’s innate body-intelligence to guide self-healing to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. During and following a session, clients may experience feelings of well-being, vitality, joy and serenity.
Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan
Kundalini yoga is considered to be the most comprehensive of the yoga traditions. Its goal is to awaken the full potential of human awareness through applying the technologies of kriya (exercise set), naad (sound vibration). Kundalini yoga challenges both mind and body to elevate the spirit and bring one toward a state of higher consciousness. It combines physical exercise, pranayama (breathing techniques), mantra (chanting or use of sound to affect consciousness), and meditation. Common issues addressed through Kundalini yoga classes include:
- Addictive patterns
- Anxiety and stress
- Balance (physical, emotional, nervous system)
- Digestion, metabolism, circulation
- Flexibility, mobility, strength
