The NYC Suboxone Program
QUEENS * BROOKLYN * STATEN ISLAND * LONG ISLAND
NYC Suboxone radically differs from every other Suboxone program. You will not be left hanging after being handed a prescription once a month. Our approach is to individualize treatment that adapts to your needs instead of forcing you to fit into a rigid program.
Everyone has a different story and is at a different stage on their path to recovery. We will meet you exactly where you are.
Therapy, counseling, and group take place after work so there will be no interruption in your work schedule. Arrangements are made to accommodate travel and vacation schedules to contribute to a seamless transition into recovery.
Our clinic is a comfortable, supportive environment. It is in a private location and our staff respects your anonymity. You will be warmly and discreetly welcomed at the front desk. We will be ready for your visit.
At the initial consultation, an extensive history will be taken and you will be provided with clear, detailed information on your short and long-term treatment options.
We have been helping people turn their life around using Suboxone for over 18 years and have an exceptional rate of long-lasting recovery. Our positive track record of working with addiction is due to our ability to tailor our program to the needs of each and every patient. We will make sure we understand your goals and work with you accordingly.
Our goal is to transition you to Suboxone as quickly, efficiently and as trouble-free as possible
Our programs are structured to provide a holistic approach to recovery using the most up-to-date techniques to ensure a comfortable and lasting recovery.
At your first appointment, you will meet with Dana Saltzman, MD and Kevin Otero, LMHC our experienced and understanding addiction psychotherapist. A thorough and comprehensive interview is completed so we can know you as a patient and determine the appropriate dosing protocol for your case.
At the second visit, after 24 hours of abstinence, the first dose of Suboxone will be administered. This takes over 2 hours. You will feel better than you have in a long time even before you leave the office. The 24 hour abstinence period is necessary because if suboxone is given too soon after drug ingestion it will push you into one of the worst withdrawals you can have and you may need emergency room services.
This should not be a problem at NYC Suboxone as we avoid this by doing the proper assessment and withdrawal scale before starting you on Suboxone.
The first 24 to 72 hours are critical so we would like patients to be in close proximity to the team during this period. We recommend that you make arrangements to stay in the area and can give you suggestions for nearby hotels if you live far away.
The physician, in collaboration with the patient and the treatment team, will determine the frequency of visits following Suboxone induction. It is our belief that six months is the least duration of treatment recommended for opiate addiction and that ideally, we suggest anywhere between 1 and 3 years, however, each individual is different and these are joint decisions best left to the physician, counselor, and patient.
