The NYC Suboxone Program
The Road to Addiction Recovery will be Discreet and Supportive
Our clinic is a comfortable and supportive environment. It is in a private location and our staff respects your anonymity. You will be warmly and discreetly welcomed at the front desk, and we will be ready for your visit.
At the initial consultation, an extensive history will be taken and you will be provided with clear, detailed information on your short and long-term treatment options.
As licensed Suboxone treatment physicians for over 15 years, we have worked with all kinds of patients and understand that no two patients’ needs are alike. We believe our positive track record of working with addiction is due to our ability to tailor our program to fit the needs of each and every patient. We will make sure we understand your goals and work with you accordingly.
Our goal is to transition you to Suboxone as quickly, efficiently and as trouble-free as possible
Our programs are structured to provide a holistic approach to recovery using the most up-to-date techniques to ensure a comfortable and lasting recovery.
At your first appointment you will meet with Dana Saltzman, MD and Gary Silverman, MS, CASAC, our experienced and understanding treatment counselor as well as our experienced support staff. A thorough and comprehensive interview is completed to know you as a patient and determine the appropriate dosing protocol for your case.
At the second visit, after 24 hours of abstinence, the first dose of Suboxone induction will be administered. This takes over 2 hours. You will feel better than you have in a long time even before you leave the office. If suboxone is given too soon after drug ingestion it will push you into one of the worst withdrawals you can have and you may need emergency room services.
This should not be a problem at NYC Suboxone as we can avoid this by doing the proper assessment and withdrawal scale before starting you on Suboxone.
We believe that the first 24 to 72 hours are critical so we would like patients to be in close proximity to the team during this period. We recommend that you make arrangements to stay in the area and can give you suggestions for nearby hotels.
Two to six months and thereafter, the physician, in collaboration with the patient and the treatment team, will determine the frequency of visits during this period. It is our belief that six months is the least duration of treatment recommended for opiate addiction and that -ideally we suggest anywhere between 1 and 3 years, however, each individual is different and these are joint decisions best left to the physician, counselor, and patient.

The Shortest, Most Cost-Effective Route from Opiate Dependence to Recovery
Our expertise is in medically assisted detox from opiates. We are known in the field for long-term recovery from painkillers and heroin. Getting off drugs is not easy. At NYC Suboxone it is done carefully with the least possible amount of discomfort during the outpatient medically supervised withdrawal.
We have excellent results transferring people off their drug of choice to Suboxone. An important part of our program is counseling, addiction group - held in the evenings - and acupuncture.
